Acts 16:25-34 “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul shouted, “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here!” 29 The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.”
verse 34 “he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.”
Stats:
Mom and dad both attend church - 72% will follow Jesus as adults
Only dad - 55%
Only mom - 15%
none - 6%
4 things the jailer did to lead his family.
- Recognize
Verse 26-27 “Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose. 27 The jailer woke up.”
Scale of 1-10.
What is the spiritual temperature of your family?
How are you doing at leading your family in spiritual matters?
How would your spouse say you are doing?
How would your kids say you are doing?
2. Repent
verse 29 “The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
Verse 30-31 “He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
3. Rearrange
Verse 33-34 “At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his household were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.”
We are more busy than any culture in the history of mankind. All this business does not lend itself to building a strong healthy family.
Psalm 39:6 NLT “We are merely moving shadows, and all this busy rushing ends in nothing.”
Ecclesiastes 4:6 GN “It is better to have only a little, with peace of mind, than be busy all the time…”
If you are going to lead a godly family you are going to have to…
- Get a vision for your family
b. Rearrange everything around that vision
c. Be intentional
d. Stick with it
4. Recommit
Verse 34 “The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole household.”
Joshua 24:15 “as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

part 2
FAITHFUL IN FINANCES
The REALITY.
Most people are living a LIE.
The LACK of money is not the real problem. (Haggai 1:6)
The RESPONSIBILITY.
We will give an ACCOUNT to God for what we did with what He gave us. (Matt. 25:14-30)
We can’t expect God to give us MORE if we are not faithful to manage what we have. (Luke 16:10-12; Matt. 25:21)
The RECOMMENDATIONS. (Rom. 13:8)
SOW some. (Mal. 3:8-12; 2 Cor. 9:6)
SAVE some. (Prov. 21:20)
SPEND some.
SHARE some. (Prov. 11:24-25)
The REAPING. (Gal. 6:7)
When finances are OUT of order:
STRESS increases.
STRAINED relationships occur.
A STAINED reputation is possible.
When finances are IN order:
You GET more. (Matt. 25:28-29)
You can GO more.
You can GIVE more. (Luke 12:48)

Building a House
I Corinthians 3:10 “ Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful.”
I Peter 2:4-5 “As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
As bricks in the house God is building, our job is 4 things…
1. Lay down
Matthew 16:24 LB “If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
I John 3:16 “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
2. Link up
Ephesians 2:21-22 “In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Colossians 3:14 “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
3. Lean on
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Ephesians 4:16 “From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”
4. Lock in
Legacy = Long faithfulness over time.
