5 Minute Fire

Pastor Amber

Psalm 16:11
“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

1. You have a sharpened vision
2. You see others who are invested in your growth

Pastor Colton

2 Cor 3:17-18 NLT
17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

  1. We are more than reflections — we are image bearers
  2. Identity is our gift not our creation
  3. God uses what is broken

Pastor Joshua
What the Bible does say:
Mark 12:30-31
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

What the Bible doesn’t say:
Love your neighbor as yourself … unless they believe differently, look differently, or think differently than you.

Takeaway:
Allow us to see people through the lens of Love.

Pastor Cassie

Romans 8:18
We have sufferings now. But the sufferings we have now are nothing compared to the great glory that will be given to us.
  1. How we view our current situation dictates our emotions and our behaviors.
  2. We need to think about suffering with a biblical mindset so that we will grow through it and not be destroyed by it.
  3. Remind your suffering who your God is.
  4. Don’t look to 2021 as your hope. . .you will only be let down. Our only hope is in Jesus Christ.

Pastor Chad

“You can get a word for this year but that ONE WORD will do nothing unless you do something about the 1,277,499 other words you speak.”

Proverbs 18:21
“life and death are in the power of the tongue”

  1. If you can’t say something good, SKIP IT!

Proverbs 10:19
“When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.”

  1. If you think something good, SAY IT!

Proverbs 12:18
"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of life brings HEALING.”

Matthew 11:28 NIV “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Three things that Jesus does:

  1. Jesus takes the FAITHLESS and makes them FAITHFUL.

1 Samuel 27:1 NIV “But David thought to himself, “One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul.

Hebrews 12:2 BSB “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, who is the author and the perfecter of our faith.”

2. Jesus takes the JOYLESS and makes them JOYFUL.

Happiness depends of happenings.
Joy depends on Jesus.

Romans 8:28 NIV “And we know that in all things God is working for good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes.”

3. Jesus takes TRIALS and makes us TRIUMPHANT.

Romans 5:3-5 NIV “but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”

Isaiah 61:3 NIV “Bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”
Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Might god, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

ALL IN -Called To Grow

ALL IN
Called to GROW

2 Peter 1:5-8 NIV “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ”

If we want to grow we need….

1. A PLACE to grow in

Psalm 92:13 NIV “planted in the house of the Lord…”

2. A PEOPLE to grow with

Genesis 2:18 NIV “It is not good for man to be alone…”

verse 18b “…I will create a helper suitable for him.”

Genesis 1:28 NLT “Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it.”

3. Some PROBLEMS to grow through

4. A PURPOSE to grow toward

ALL IN- Called to Give

1. Giving is a HARD thing

2. Giving is a HEART thing

John 3:16 “God so LOVED the world that He GAVE…”

Romans 5:8 HCSB “But God PROVES His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!

2 Corinthians 8:7-8 NLT “Since you excel in so many ways—in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us—I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving. 8 I am not commanding you to do this. But I am TESTING HOW GENUINE YOUR LOVE IS by comparing it with the eagerness of the other churches.”

3. Giving is an HONOR thing

Proverbs 3:9 NIV HONOR the Lord with your WEALTH, with the first fruits of all your crops.”

a. What does God want? ALL OF US

Proverbs 3:9 “honor the Lord with your wealth

b. When does he want it? FIRST THING

Proverbs 3:9
“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops.”

Matthew 6:24 NIV “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

c. How does he want it? FROM THE HEART

2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV  “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a CHEERFUL giver.”

Proverbs 3:10 NIV “then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine”

Luke 6:38 NIVGive, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
