AKA: Harvest Worker

AKA
Part 4
Harvest Worker

Matthew 9:35-38 NIV “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to SEND OUT WORKERS into his harvest field.”

Isaiah 6:8 NIV “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Jesus perspective on the Harvest…

1. The harvest was PERSONAL to Jesus

Matthew 9:36 “When he saw the crowds, HE HAD COMPASSION on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Luke 19:41 NIV “As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, HE WEPT over it.”

2. The harvest was PRIORITY to Jesus

John 4:35 NKJV “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already WHITE for harvest!”

3. The harvest will PERISH without workers

Matthew 9:37 “the harvest is plentiful but THE WORKERS ARE FEW”

Romans 10:13-15 NIV “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

How can you answer the harvest workers prayer?

1. Share your LIFE

2. Share your CHURCH

3. Share your STORY

Luke 5:24 NIV “So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.”

Army

SERVING in the ARMY OF GOD

1. Serve WILLINGLY

Ephesians 6:7 ISV “ Serve willingly, as if you were serving the Lord and not merely people…”

Romans 13:8 GNT “Be under obligation to no one—the only obligation you have is to love one another.”

2. Serve FAITHFULLY

3. Serve SACRIFICIALLY

2 Timothy 2:4 TPT “For every soldier called to active duty must divorce himself from the distractions of this world so that he may fully satisfy the one who chose him.”

Matthew 6:1-4 NCV “Be careful! When you do good things, don’t do them in front of people to be seen by them. If you do that, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
2 “When you give to the poor, don’t be like the hypocrites.
They blow trumpets in the synagogues and on the streets so that people will see them and honor them. I tell you the truth, those hypocrites already have their full reward. 3 So when you give to the poor, don’t let anyone know what you are doing. 4 Your giving should be done in secret. Your Father can see what is done in secret, and he will reward you.”

4. Serve WHOLEHEARTEDLY

Ephesians 6:7-9 NIV “Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.

Colossians 3:23 NIV “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,

Romans 12:1 NCV “So brothers and sisters, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him, which is the spiritual way for you to worship.”

AKA: A House

AKA
Part 2
House

I Peter 2:4-5 NIV “As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual HOUSE to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”

2 Corinthians 4:7 “We are just earthen vessels….”

If the church is a house and we are the bricks then what is our job? 4 things…

1. LAY DOWN

Matthew 16:24 TLB “If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

I John 3:16 NIV “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”

2. LINK UP

Ephesians 2:21-22 NIV “In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Colossians 3:14 NIV “And over all these virtues put on LOVE, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

3. LEAN ON

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NIV “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12  Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

3 levels of maturity

  1. dependence (babies) It’s a one way thing.
  2. independence (teenagers) this is a one person thing.
  3. interdependence (maturity) this is a 2 way thing. I’m depending on you, you are depending on me.

4. LOCK IN

Ephesians 2:19 TLB “you are members of God’s very own family and you belong in God’s household along with every other Christian.”

AKA: The Bride

AKA
Part 1
The Bride of Christ

Revelation 19:6 NLT “Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder: “Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and HIS BRIDE has prepared herself. She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.” For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people.”

John 2:17 NIV “zeal for your house consumes me”

How can I love the church like Jesus loves the church? 3 things …

1. Get IN it

Luke 14:21 ESV “Then the master became angry and said, ‘Go at once into the streets and alleys of the town, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22 Later the servant said to him, ‘Master, I did what you commanded, but we still have room.’ 23 The master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes, and urge the people there to come so my house will be full. 24 I tell you, none of those whom I invited first will eat with me.’”

2. Get ON IT

Galatians 6:10 GW “Whenever we have the opportunity, we have to do what is good for everyone, especially for the family of believers.”

3. Get IT BACK

2 Kings 6:5-6 GW “As one of them was cutting down a tree, the ax head fell into the water. He cried out, “Oh no, master! It was borrowed!” The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed Elisha the place, Elisha cut off a piece of wood. He threw it into the water at that place and made the ax head float. 7 Elisha said, “Pick it up.” The disciple reached for it and picked it up.

Revelation 2:2-5 NIV “I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. 4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.”

Family Tree: Self-Control

Self Control
Jackson Sandefer

Proverbs 25:28 ESV
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

Galatians 5:22-23 ESV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

2 Peter 1:5-7 ESV
5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue,[a] and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.

Proverbs 16:32 ESV
Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ESV
24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. 27 But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Titus 2:11-12 ESV
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
